All the brave and dedicated people who attended will be more than aware that this weekend’s Fast Show at Santa Pod was a wet, muddy and cold experience. However, the forecasted showers and dropping temperatures didn’t deter the thousands of hardcore modders, car club members and enthusiasts attending this year’s show.
The day kicked off to a busy and exciting start, with queues of eager modders ready for action. The one thing unfortunately Santa Pod were unable to control was the weather and as the morning crept in the heavens opened and the fields become one big muddy puddle!
Due to health and safety Santa Pod were unable to open the notorious drag strip resulting in lots of disappointed car fanatics. This wasn’t through lack of effort as the Santa Pod staff worked relentlessly trying to dry out the track. On the day the strip only managed to play host to a photo shoot with photographer Simon Pow and Performance Direct Promotional models Faye and Hayley.
As this year’s Fast Show has now been named by some as a ‘wash out’, Santa Pod Raceway has kindly announced that they are willing to compensate their ticket holders with FREE tickets to an option of 3 shows. They have thrown open the doors to EITHER Street Nationals (May 11th/12th 2013), God of the Pod (Sat, Aug 17th 2013) or JapShow Finale (Sept 28th/29th 2013). Performance Direct and so many Car Clubs and individuals made the effort to attend and although the weather was disappointing, the atmosphere and entertainment could not be faulted.
We would like to applaud Santa Pod in their efforts to keep The Fast Show alive and also for keeping their guests entertained and their staff as happy and helpful as ever.
